Plan the whole journey

A train map is a starting point. The useful route includes airport arrival, transfers, the final walk and a backup when conditions change.

From the airport

Check your terminal, arrival time and destination before choosing rail. Allow for immigration and bags; a late arrival may make a taxi or booked car more practical. Changi Airport’s current transport page is the authority for pickup locations and service details.

For every day

A contactless card can simplify travel, but use the same card or device at both ends of a journey. Foreign-issued cards may attract a daily admin fee in addition to fares. For groups, ensure each traveller has an accepted payment method.

For the last mile

Gardens, beaches and large museums can have multiple entrances. Route to the correct one. A bus may reduce walking where a train does not; check direction and stop number before boarding. The detailed guide explains the payment and tapping rules.

Start with the route

Save your hotel address and nearest station. Check the route immediately before travelling, including transfers and the final walk; a station name is not the same as your destination entrance.

Choose a payment method

Eligible contactless bank cards are convenient. SimplyGo lists a S$0.60 daily admin fee for foreign-issued cards, in addition to fares. Your issuer may add foreign-currency charges.

Keep late arrivals simple

Check the last available connection before relying on rail from the airport. If services do not match your arrival, compare the official taxi queue with an app-booked ride.
